    The Description

Wiltshire is comfortable and hard-wearing and has the timeless look of a stylish derby shoe. The Wiltshire Derby shoe can be identified by its “open” lacing system, meaning that its eyelet tabs are stitched on top of the shoe’s vamp.

With its “open lace” construction, the Wiltshire is suitable for a wider fit and higher in-step. This ensures more comfort compared to an Oxford shoe which has a tighter lacing system.

    The Leather

A rich brown just like a really good Chestnut should be. Our Chestnut Burnished colourway is the perfect tone for those not wanting to wear Black or Dark Brown. Perfect for all occasions and beautiful when ages and full of the character gained from plenty of wear.Calf leather is finer grained, and lighter in weight than the hide of older cattle. This means that it is also more supple. It is also very durable in comparison to its thickness. We advise using a Neutral polish to help care for these.

    The Fit

This last has been used for our City shoes for many years. The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (5067/1) is true to size, we recommend sticking to your regular than a regular UK. If you are unsure of your UK size, use our size guide to convert your known size to a UK size.

    SHOE KNOWLEDGE

    Derby Shoe

A derby shoe is characterised by open lacing, which means that the eyelets for the shoelaces are sewn on top of the vamp (the upper part of the boot). This type of lacing allows the boot to be adjusted for a comfortable fit and makes it easier to put on and take off than a boot with closed lacing, such as an Oxford.

    Last no: 5067/1

This last has been used for decades. It is part of our history and character as England's oldest shoe manufacturer. The size (length fitting) of Tricker’s footwear made on this last (5067/1) is true to size, we recommend sticking to your regular than a regular UK. The last is a hard, three-dimensional form on which the shoe is constructed. Depending on the style of shoe we use different lasts, this is what dictates the overall shape, proportion, fit and character of the shoe.
